Faith = Belief X Action | Why Moving in Faith Means Doing It Scared
Origin Stories
Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
- What’s something you’re good at or passionate about?
- What stood out to you most from the message?
- What’s one thing that keeps you from stepping out of your comfort zone?
- Do you think bringing our doubts to God could actually be a sign of faith? Why or why not?
- Read Judges 6:12. God gives us special identity and purpose. What makes it difficult for you to trust that about Him?
- Faith in our lives looks more like a zigzag than a straight line. How does this compare to what you’ve experienced?
- Do you think there are some things you’ve missed out on from God because you didn’t have the courage to move? Why or why not?
- Read Ephesians 3:20. What’s one step you can take this week to say yes to God and what he has for you?
Prayer
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like, “God, thank you for giving us purpose and not giving up on us. We need your strength to trust in you. Help us to have courage and faith to move toward what you have for us. In the identity and character of Jesus we pray, amen.”
Bonus Questions
- Read Judges 6:13. Share a time when it was hard for you to have faith.
- Do you think you’re “findable” by God? What can keep you from having a conversation with God about next steps? What can you start to do differently?
