You Don't Have to Live Life Exhausted

Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
- What’s your favorite game, and why? (It could be a board game, video game, card game, etc.)
- What stood out to you most from the message?
- Think of the burdens and stresses you’re carrying right now. What are the top 3?
- Read Matthew 11:28-30. What sticks out to you the most and why?
- What does it look like for you to come to Jesus with your burdens? Is there a certain way, time, or place in which you would like to have that conversation?
- Colossians 3:23 talks about working for the Lord and not for men. Why is it hard to let Jesus define the wins in your work?
- Why is it hard to hand Jesus the weight of your burdens? What worries or fears tend to hold you back?
- What’s one way you can approach the “gentle and lowly” Jesus with your burdens this week?
Prayer
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like; “Jesus, thank you for offering rest for our souls. Help us to understand your promises in Matthew 11:28-30, to identify the burdens we’re carrying, and to give them to you. We want your easy yoke. In the identity and character of Jesus we pray, amen.”
Bonus Questions
- How can taking on Jesus’ yoke be more about a person and not a principle?
- Has there ever been a time you’ve handed over a burden to Jesus? What was the result?
- Read Galatians 5:22-23. What attitude or fruit of the Spirit do you want more of? Take a quick moment to ask God for that right now.
That's it for this week - see you next time!
New around here? We'd love to connect
Sometimes life feels like a game that's impossible to win. Every day is another roll of the dice, another task, another decision. But what if there was another way to play?
This week, Kyle Ranson shows us how Jesus invites us to play the game in an entirely different way. You don't have to carry the burden, because He's already doing that for you. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio
