Joy in the Journey | The Book of Philippians Week 3 | Anywhere Service
The Book of Philippians
Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
- What would you say was the happiest (or most joyful) moment of your life?
- What stood out to you most from this week’s message?
- Where do you usually try to find your joy?
- What often limits your joy the most (dwelling on the past, the challenges of the present, or worries about the future)?
- What do you need to release to receive joy? Is there also truth you need to receive?
- What kinds of expectations do you enter each day with? How might they prevent you from finding joy?
- Read Philippians 3:12. What goal is God calling you to “strain towards” this week?
Prayer
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for the limitless joy you provide. Help me find that joy regardless of my circumstances, past, present, or future.” Amen.
Bonus Questions
Check these out if you’re on a roll and want to go a little deeper.
- If you think of joy as ‘internal stability,’ how does that change your perspective on it?
- If you were able to release the good and the bad from the past, how would you live your life differently in the present?
New around here? We'd love to connect
Sometimes we can be so focused on our goals that we miss the joy that can be found in the process. Today Hannah shows us how we don’t have to wait until we’ve arrived or achieved perfection to feel the grace, freedom, rest, and joy that God wants for us on our journey.
