Start Dreaming Again

Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
- What dreams did you have as a kid?
- What stood out to you most from the message?
- What’s the difference between a dream and a goal?
- Describe a dream you have now. If you feel like you don’t have one, what’s something you would like to see happen in your life?
- What are some disappointments you’ve experienced in trying to pursue your dreams?
- Jesus gave his disciples impossible instructions (like in Luke 9:10-17 and Matthew 14:22-23). Is there something that seems impossible with your dream? How could you turn to Jesus with that impossibility?
- Read Deuteronomy 7:9 and Matthew 19:26. How do these verses increase your faith? How do they challenge your faith?
- What’s one step you can take this week to dream with God? Think about asking someone to hold you accountable to take that step.
Prayer
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like, “God, thank you for giving us dreams. Help us to be like Abraham and believe the dreams you give us. As we come to you with questions and doubts, provide for us and guide us in the direction we should go. In the identity and character of Jesus we pray, amen.”
Bonus Questions
- Dreams don’t always look the same, and might seem small in comparison. How could your dream impact thousands of generations to come?
- Read Ephesians 3:20-21. God wants to expand our dreams. Take a moment to tell God your dream. Then ask Him what it would look like to expand it.
That's it for this week - see you next time!
New around here? We'd love to connect
Maybe life got busy. Maybe disappointment made it easier to stop hoping for more. But what if God is actually inviting you to dream with him for more than you can see right now?
This weekend, we're looking to get Revived. Kyle Ranson walks us through what it means to start dreaming what might be possible when you partner with the Creator of the Universe. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
