Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
  1. Who’s someone you admire as a leader, and why? (It could be a coach, teacher, or mentor)
  2. What stood out to you most from the message?
  3. Where are you a steward and leader in your life?
  4. What do you consider to be your strengths? What about your weaknesses?
  5. Read Titus 1:7-8. How does this definition of leadership differ from what the world tends to display?
  6. Jesus is constantly flipping authority on its head, like in Mark 9:35. What’s one way you’ve been surprised by humble authority in your life?
  7. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. What could it look like for you to boast in your weaknesses, so the power of Christ can work in you?
  8. What’s one step you can take this week to be more open and vulnerable, and allow Jesus to work through your weaknesses?

Prayer

Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like, “God, sometimes it’s difficult to view leadership the way you want versus how the world wants. Thank you for using our weaknesses alongside your power. Help us to trust you and rely on your strength. In the identity and character of Jesus we pray, amen.”

Bonus Questions

  1. When was the last time you felt like saying, “Lord, I can’t”? How could you change that to “Lord, I can’t—but I believe you can”?
  2. Is there someone or something new God could be asking you to lead? Share with the group.
That's it for this week - see you next time!
New around here? We'd love to connect

Eventually, God will bring you to a place where your own strength isn’t enough. And that might be exactly where He wants you.

In this raw, behind-the-scenes message, Kyle Ranson talks about the fear underneath every big calling: What if I don’t have what it takes?

The world tells us to believe in ourselves, hide our weakness, and fake it until we make it. But Scripture gives us a different picture: you don’t have to have what it takes. God does. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
